Matthew Johnson is a creative and talented makeup artist specializing in a range of makeup artistry disciplines including Fashion, Bridal, Character, Hair and Wig styling and Special Effects. Matthew has worked both in Australia and the United Kingdom for over 18 years on various productions including Greece, Mid Summer Nights Dream, Guy’s & Dolls and the Carpetburn Club Cabaret.

Other more recent work includes National makeup Artist for Shiseido Australia and the Head makeup & Hair Designer for Alban the Opera. Matthew currently works as a specialist makeup Lecturer where he co-ordinates one of the countries most successful Fashion & Theatrical Makeup courses at Oaklands College in Hertfordshire.

On his bridal makeup artistry Matthew states: “I believe that the perfect bridal makeup is all about creating exactly what the bride wants. Every bride has their own vision on how they want to look- after all they are the star of the show – be it natural & subtle to highly polished sophistication to total Hollywood glamour. I pride myself in creating ‘the exact’ look my client wants for her special day.
